So, this morning, I was listening to MCR, and eventually, started thinking about DD:TLOTFK, as well as the comic book counterpart, Killjoys:California, especially about the masks, and how the Fabulous Killjoys all died without them, even when it’s made clear that you shouldn’t within the lore. (Tl;dr at the bottom of this post.)
According to multiple bits of lore within DD:TLOTFK, and Killjoys: California, if you die without your mask on, then you don’t move on to the afterlife. Dr. Death Defying says it during “Jet-Star and the Kobra Kid/Traffic Report”, mentioning that if you do get dusted, you have to die with your mask on, and within this, it’s implied that if you don’t, you will not be able to move on to the after life. Within Killjoys:California, the Phoenix Witch is seen picking up masks of dead Killjoys + dead Draculoids, in her conversation with The Girl. When picking these up, and putting them in her cart, she picks up a very familiar mask. Party Poison’s signature mask is put in the cart, along with a couple of others.
Within the SING music video, when the Killjoys go to save The Girl, they do not have their masks on, and they very clearly die within the video. Since Killjoys: California follows this timeline, as well as showing flashbacks to the event, it can be assumed that they did indeed die in Battery City, without their masks, and no mailboxes to even try to drop them off at. Party Poisons is the only one to ever be dropped off within a mailbox, even though it’s unclear how it goes to TCM’s store within the comics.
With this information in mind, the question held mainly within the comic, and partially within the music videos, is: What happens to Jet-Star, Kobra Kid, and Fun Ghoul?
There’s two options that come to mind, all coming from different parts of the lore, from the comics, the music videos, as well as the tracklist, and even assumed conjecture from the lore.
Option 1: They all become static for Battery City, their ghosts losing memories, and eventually get freed when The Girl decides to not destroy Battery City, and instead free the souls trapped within Battery City’s electricity.
Evidence for Option 1: The Girl’s mother, after being dusted by unknown forces, does end up becoming static for Battery City, as shown in the last panel of the last volume of Killjoys: California. This seems to be similar for most souls dusted, because there were a lot of souls released when The Girl uses her powers to free them from the static. Using this evidence, and applying it to Jet-Star, Kobra Kid, and Fun Ghoul, who died within Battery City limits, it could be entirely possible that they became part of the static as well, losing their memories since they were in there for a decade or so, just like The Girl’s mother.
Option 2:They have become stuck in limbo, their bodies dead, and their souls still living on, becoming ghosts haunting Battery City, since their shadows live on without them, and possibly being freed at the end of Killjoys: California.
Evidence for Option 2: Looking at “Goodnite, Dr. Death”, and analyzing the lyrics, he specifically says that “...out here in the desert, your shadow lives on without you.” Killjoy society, in general, is very superstitious, especially with habits such as dying with your mask on, dropping your mask off with the Phoenix Witch in mailboxes across the desert, although there are some non-believers, such as Val Velocity, and The Girl (for a short while).
Using these pieces of evidence, there may be a possibility of superstitious Battery City citizens, who believe in some Killjoy legends, such as the Phoenix Witch, but this is incredibly unlikely, since BL/ind controls and subjugates its citizens in every way, until its destruction. However, what is incredibly likely, is Draculoized souls sifting around the City. With the inclusion of this, it is completely possible that the rest of The Fabulous Killjoys could have been haunting Battery City for a decade or so, until being freed by The Girl at the end of the comics.
Tl;dr: When dying without your mask, it is unclear if you either become static, or become a ghost haunting wherever you died. However, the music videos, the comics, and a bit of conjecture from the lore implies both of these could happen, but it still remains unclear.
If yall have any other theories, lemme know!! I'm happy to hear out anything, I just kinda came up with this for fun :]

I Ranked Every* MCR Song (According to My Own Opinion, Of Course)
*Kinda. I excluded live demos and re-releases of songs. Sorry to any diehard Emily or W.T.T.B.P. Steve Aoki Remix fans.
Also, some of these songs could have their places shuffled around slightly and I would probably still agree. It's really hard to form distinct opinions on, by my count, 77 songs.
Also, just because a song is kinda far down, doesn't mean I don't like it. I like the top 45 or so songs, actively dislike the bottom 5-ish, and have no strong opinion on the ones in between.
Finally, actual MCR fans: I'm curious how controversial some of my opinions are. I can see some songs that I think I placed lower than most other people would, but who knows?
The list (from best to worst):
Vampire Money [highest ranked Danger Days song]
House of Wolves [highest ranked Black Parade song]
Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na)

Looking Back On: My Chemical Romance, “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys”
July 2, 2020
“Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” is next to be discussed. I should start this section by apologizing for breaking the Clarion’s “no more articles about My Chemical Romance” rule. It wasn’t going to survive with me around. I’ve written here before about how my friend Mag really dragged me into the emo scene in 2011.
“Danger Days,” my MCR album of choice, simply must be included in this article. First and foremost, “Danger Days” and the podcast “Welcome To Night Vale” are the two major things that inspired me to be a radio DJ throughout high school. That choice has impacted my life in so many ways that it’s not even funny. The album is amazing; comic books, apocalypse and anti-capitalism fit so well together.
I won’t focus on the comics as they take place 10 years after the album. Dr. Death-Defying’s intro in “Na Na Na” is hands down the best intro to an album ever. It accomplishes more world-building and tone-setting than most full books in just a few sentences.
The song blasts us into the world of the Killjoys (the rebels fighting for freedom in the story, who are personified as the band members) so well. It sets the immediate goal of saving The Girl from the evil Korse who kidnaps her at the end of the song. “Bulletproof Heart” is so romantic and such a powerful song.
“SING” gets a lot of crap for being ‘too poppy’ for “Danger Days” but I disagree. The music video follows the Killjoys breaking into the evil BL/ind organization to save The Girl from Korse. A struggle ensues in which they all die; however, they do succeed in saving her.
The rest of the album takes place before the kidnapping and deaths. “Planetary (GO!)” is a party song with its poetic lyrics about the folly of fame contributing to the song’s dance party concept.
“The Only Hope For Me is You” has an intro that feels like a hazy dream as the synth sweeps up the song. It is a power ballad and highlights the war (the Analog War, according to the comics) that the characters are fighting, with constant mentions of guns and bombs. The song shows that the Killjoys have nothing left but each other.
“Jet-Star and the Kobra Kid / Traffic Report” adds so much to the world. Are they dead? Who knows! Keep listening to find out!
“Party Poison” is such a good rock introduction to the chaotic character of Party Poison. It starts with a clip of the character talking about bombing since, according to him, life’s too short not to fight. There’s a reason that he’s the leader of the rebellion in this war. “Save Yourself (I’ll Hold them Back)” is a good sneak peek at what the Killjoys will become.
“S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W” feels like a lullaby to The Girl. I should explain a little more about her character here. The Girl is nameless. When the Killjoys took her in, they didn’t want to give her a name but let her decide for herself. She’s the main protagonist of the comics.
“Summertime” feels like a somber prequel to “Bulletproof Heart,” like love before the war. “Destroya” takes us right back to speed. A duet between Gerard and Frank, the song includes moaning, which makes this the most awkward song to play out loud. However, it adds to the story.
“The Kids From Yesterday” has a music video consisting of footage from MCR’s last tour, but I feel like the song is the Killjoys coming to terms with the fact that they’re gonna die.
“Goodnight, Dr. Death” is the official end of the album, where the titular Doctor is murdered as the national anthem plays. The last song is “Vampire Money,” which was written as a response to people asking Gerard to be in “Twilight.”

This took me 45 minutes. MCR has no songs that have titles starting with the letters O, Q, U (although Someone Out There Loves You is called "Untitled" on the "The Black Parade Is Dead!" record) or X. Make with that what you will.
...
As I was going to post this, I realized you said PLAYLIST. I somehow missed the 'play' and now i have written an entire list of My Chemical Romance's songs.
broskis i’m super lazy but would anyone be willing to make a playlist of every mcr song in alphabetical order? like idk it sounds fun
